Annual awards
Every year, at its Annual Awards Dinner held during the IISL Colloquium, the Institute gives several awards and certificates to people who have shown outstanding achievement in the field of space law.
On this occasion, the Institute gives out annual awards in five categories: the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Distinguished Service Award, the Award of Appreciation, the Certificate of Gratitude, and the Space Law Award for Young Achievers.
A sixth category of annual awards is the Prof. Dr I.H.Ph. Diederiks-Verschoor Award, granted by the IISL Board of Directors.
Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition
The Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition began in 1992 and is organised annually by the International Institute of Space Law. The competition has its own dedicated website. The IISL Young Scholars Fund supports the achievements of students participating in each of the five Regional Rounds of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition.
