In its very first virtual meeting on 22 March 2020, the IISL Board of Directors (BoD) sent a signal of capacity to act in times of the COVID-19 crisis. The BoD had planned to meet alongside the UNCOPUOS Legal Subcommittee in Vienna but had to schedule a virtual meeting organised and prepared by the Executive Secretary Diane Howard. With participation of a large majority of the Board members, chaired by the President Kai-Uwe Schrogl, decisions were taken on new members, the Institute’s awards, the conduct and planning of IAC Colloquia in 2020 and 2021 as well the selection of the 60th anniversary logo. Furthermore, the procedure of the Manfred Lachs Moot Court Competition was discussed and exchanges on the activities of Committees and events of the Institute were conducted.
