Message on the consequences from COVID-19

Dear IISL community,

 

It is with great regret that several upcoming IISL activities have been affected by COVID-19. The health of our members and participants absolutely comes first!

 

Therefore, some regionals for the Manfred Lachs Moot Court will be postponed or held virtually. More information will be posted on the dedicated website. The Moot Court Committee is working together with the regional organisers to guarantee a fair competition. The regionals for the Manfred Lachs Moot Court competition are being impacted and each region is adopting a method for identifying the winning team that will go to the international finals. 

 

Since the UNCOPUOS Legal Subcommittee is cancelled, the IISL/ECSL Symposium will also not take place. The Board of Directors meeting, which was foreseen to meet the day before the LSC, will be held as telcon. We also have to postpone our IISL/CSA/CISL/CNSA Symposium in Fouzhou to September.

 

We know that these measures are very disappointing to all the students who are preparing so hard for the Moot Court competition, for all the organisers of IISL events, and for the speakers at IISL activities. We thank you all for your efforts and we nevertheless hope that the IAC will take place as planned in October and that we can meet there under normal circumstances. We had hoped to celebrate the 60th anniversary of IISL this year in a more confident atmosphere, but our task and our mission remains untouched from the current circumstances.
