The Conference on Space Law and Space Applications for Disaster Management in the Asia Pacific Region was held from 20-22 November 2007 in Chiangmai, Thailand. It was a follow-up to the IISL regional space law conference held in August 2006 in Bangkok and was organised by Prof. Nipant Chitasombat with Chiangmai University and Rangsit University, in cooperation with the IISL.

JAXA, Japan, the National Center for Remote Sensing, Air and Space Law of the University of Mississippi, and the McGill Institute of Air and Space Law, Montreal supported the conference. The event was very successful and the University of Chiangmai agreed to publish the Proceedings.
