The IISL introduced the Asia Pacific Regional Round of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition in 1999. The winner of this round represents the Asia-Pacific region at the World Finals, which takes place in the framework of the IISL's annual Colloquium, a contained event of the International Astronautical Congress.

The 2017 Asia Pacific Regional Round will take place in the first half of 2017. The Asia Pacific Regional Round is governed by the Asia-Pacific Official Rules of Manfred Lachs Moot Court Competition.
